Swinford Agricultural Show SocietyAnnual Show - August 15th 2009 |

This year's show had everything: glorious sunshine, a record attendance, quality exhibits, exciting competition, numerous novelty events, children's entertainment, exhibition centre and demonstrations, in fact something for everyone. The All-Ireland Suckler Heifer final attracted eighteen qualifiers from all over the country with the top prize going to Glenswilly, Co. Donegal. The All-Ireland Bantam Chicken Final also brought eighteen qualifiers and the top prize went to Strokestown, Co Roscommon. The winner of the lucrative Growvite All-Ireland Hogget Championships was Robert Porter from Oldcastle, Co Meath. Once again sincere thanks to the sponsors, exhibitors and patrons who continue to support the show, especially to the directors and staff of Swinford Amenities, Ltd., for such a fine venue. |
